Vacation Week Programme 2022

During the month of July 2022 we hosted a very successful Vacation Week Programme during which students had the opportunity to experience what it is like to work at a New Breed Law Firm. We had university students attending the Vacation Week Programme, as well as an aspiring student, Felicia Helepi, who spent time  "shadowing" in our conveyancing department. Here is what some of the students had to say about their experience with us:

"First and foremost I would just like to thank Neumann Van Rooyen for the wonderful opportunity they granted me. The vacation work programme was absolutely amazing and it was a blissful experience filled with knowledge and memories. I really appreciate the means and measures that were taken to accommodate me. I have learned a lot of valuable lessons that  I can Incorporate in my studies as well as personal life. I am really grateful for the opportunity that was granted to me and really hope that in future I will have such an opportunity again.

The Staff and Management at Neumann Van Rooyen treated me with warmth and love. The Firm ensured that they make it their priority to give me a valuable experience with whatever resources they have and for that I will forever be grateful.

Being at the firm has been a wonderful experience that I wish never came to an end, I have learnt a lot and I have Grown fonder with the firm. I really wish the firm well and my best wishes in its future endeavours. I hope to be at the firm again soon and I wish the staff and management well. Thank You So Much. "

"First and foremost, I would like to start off by thanking you for the vacation work experience. It was a real eye opener to legal fraternity. The past week was amazing thus, I do not have any input on improvements nor do I have any complaints. 

The whole experience exceeded my expectations by far. From the warm smiles that greeted us at the reception to the appreciable opportunity to tour the Supreme Court of Appeal. Thank you to the staff for taking great care of us and taking time of their busy schedules to engage with us and pass some of their valuable knowledge and experiences.

Thanks to this whole experience that I have been provided with, I look forward to the legal documents that I will be drafting and the modules that I am going to encounter during the course of my studies. I look forward to the future and I am more enthused about a career in law.

"Firstly I would like to thank Neumann & van Rooyen Attorneys for granting me an opportunity for work experience. It was an amazing experience where I got to learn a lot from the Vacation week program. I got an opportunity to visit the CCMA case which I found very interesting and filled with knowledge on how things are done in the real world of Labour law practice.

The vacation week programme gave me an opportunity to explore and experience different departments in the law firm which helped me to figure out in which department I am more interested in. I spent two days on the Litigation side which was so interesting and eye-opening but I figured that I am  more interested in the commercial side. I have spent most of my time in the conveyancing department which I fell in love with. The staff members were very friendly and welcoming and made sure that I was comfortable to work and engage with them. Further, they were also patient and accommodating to make sure that I understood how things are done and how things differ in different law firms.

Being at the law firm was a such nice experience that I wish could happen more than once a year. I learnt a lot and I have fallen in love with Neumann & van Rooyen law firm.
